About the freight

FULL TRUCLOAD (FTL)
Full truckload means that the customer's shipment will have an entire truck all for itself (or a sea container if the freight is shipped by maritime transport). In most cases it means that the customer's freight takes up all the space on the vehicle, but if the customer requests, we can transport small cargos individually as well, without combining them with those of other clients. That way the cargo receives additional security and privacy and reaches the destination much faster. Such individual kind of transportation is usually chosen for particularly expensive goods, for example, gourmet and perishable food products, antique furniture and so on.

LESS THAN TRUCKLOAD (LTL)
For clients whose cargo is relatively light and small, i.e. doesn't use the full space of a truck, it's cost effective to share the vehicle with other shippers in order to reduce the transportation costs. In most cases LautomaWest can offer several transportation ways and routes, depending on the time and finances. For our regular clients who need routine delivery of small shipments we develop LTL freight forwarding schemes and plans well in advance. That allows the client to decrease the expenses even more as well as to ensure the continuous supply chain. Professional, efficient and fast freight consolidation is among the greatest strengths of our team.
We transport the following freight:

PERISHABLE PRODUCTS
The goods in this category mainly include food products, such as fresh, chilled and frozen meat, fish, sea food, vegetables, fruits, dairy, bread and bakery products, various semi-finished and other food. The transportation of such goods requires special conditions, attention and responsibility. It's vital to comply with all hygiene standards and regulations so that the products reach their consumers in the state of highest quality. Time, temperature and humidity are the major indicators in this category.
Our employees are professionals in the subtleties of food transportation, so, if the need be, we can always advise our customers which temperature regime to choose. Upon their request, we provide detailed reports on the temperatures throughout the whole trip of the freight.
When transporting food and other perishable goods, it's important to ensure not only adequate cargo conditions but also methods of the loading and unloading processes. We therefore strongly recommend to check the cargo temperature before loading, which will guarantee the receiver's satisfaction with the product quality. We always inform our clients about the cargo's situation and advise them what actions to take if there are any deviations from the requirements.

PLANTS
We mainly transport seeds and bulbs, cut flowers and greenery, inside and outside potted plants, such as pot planted flowers, shrubbery, saplings and trees. Transportation of the latter is particularly complicated as they are considered to be out of gauge cargo that needs special attention.
Plants often require multimodal transport: from warm countries, they are carried by ships, ferries or planes and later by temperature controlled vehicles. Plants need cautious handling and transporting, careful loading and unloading as well as appropriate storage in warehouses, with lots of important details predetermining the successful result when this fragile cargo reaches its destination in its highest quality.

ELECTRONICS
Electronic devices in most cases belong to the category of expensive goods, therefore such cargo requires not only careful transportation but also increased security. We advise our clients to choose transportation routes and warehouses with the utmost precision and encourage them to acquire additional freight insurance on top of the standard coverage.

DANGEROUS GOODS (ADR)
We ship dangerous goods of different classes of their predominant hazard. Such freight requires particular caution because it may cause pollution, poisoning, burns and other damage. Hazardous products are transported in compliance with the regulations of the European Agreement Concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR). We transport cargos of ADR classes 3, 4, 5, 6, 8 and 9.

OUT OF GAUGE CARGO
One has to prepare very well for transporting freight of non-standard volume and weight. It's essential to inform the carriers well in advance about properties of the out of gauge cargo providing as many details as possible so that it could be supervised appropriately during shipping. Industrial mechanisms, agricultural machinery, construction materials and equipment are among the most popular out of gauge cargos we transport.

INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTS
It's important to select suitable vehicles for carrying diverse industrial goods. Our logistics experts carefully evaluate specific characteristics of the freight. In the process of planning LTL freight forwarding, we always take into consideration the safety and properties of the cargos that will be sharing the space on the same vehicle.

EXCISE GOODS
Fuel, alcohol, tobacco etc. are the goods the transportation of which is regulated by law. Since the requirements for transporting excise goods change often, it's essential to know the legislation of different countries. We suggest leaving these worries to us, and we'll not only deliver the cargo to the customs warehouse but also prepare necessary documentation and, in case of need, provide high quality distribution services.

CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS AND FINISHES
Plastic, glass, metals, ceramics and products from those materials travel to diverse destinations. We can take care of transporting both bulk orders and particularly small shipments. For example, we quite often transport exceptional marble and ceramic goods from Italy and Spain. We take all precautions and security measures so that the goods reach our customer undamaged and on time.

MEDICAL EQUIPMENT
Proper preparation of the cargo for transporting – its dismantling according to technical requirements and safe packaging – is extremely important for efficient carriage of medical equipment. The financial value of medical equipment is usually very high, so additional freight insurance and/or a convoy protection become a necessity. We also need to appreciate not only the weight but also the volume of the medical cargo because in many cases the packages cannot be placed on top of one another. Thus even relatively light shipments become high volume cargos.
